Also, I had my first "race" today with some guy who had a 2000 Civic SI with a H/I/E and I almost had him...but his car was just a little faster...

You should be beating Civic Si's. My friend Jason who has a SOHC ZC has beaten 2 diff modded ones consistently.
What tranny do you have?

 

there are numerous posts on this...do a search. my friend ran 14.7's consistently in an HF zc with an Si tranny. you should be walking on modded Si's with I/H/E.

 

I dont know how some guys could possibly get into the 14's with a ZC with minor mods but if they did more power to them. You should probabaly be next to a newer Si the whole time down the track. Think about it 130hp zc with a lighter car, vs a 160hp in a beefier car. Almost evens itself out.

 

In an Si hatchback I was running consistant 15.3s with a ZC at various tracks in Ohio.

 

You should be in the mid to low 15's with a near stock ZC. My D16Y8, which is 3 less hp ran consistent 15.3's, best of 15.2.

 

My brother ran a best of 15.8 on a 88 CRX Si w/ Iceman intake, 16" rims with 450 Nitto's, and also with full interior and all. Mind you this was also his second time ever racing at a drag strip. You should be able to beat or at least tie a new civic Si. It all depends on the driver and what mods either car has.

 

my best time was a 15.5 and i was spinning off the line like crazy. my friend has hit 15.1 before.

 

I ran a best of 13.8 in the 1/4 mile @ 112 MPH.

 

I have a SI trany, I/H/E. I also have BIG tires like 9.6% bigger then stock 14's. They are P195/60/R15.

Man I must be a REALLY REALLY SHITTY DRIVER. The best I could post w/ my ZC, Si Tranny, gutted, and a 50 SHOT was a 14.8. Now the tires were not the greatest but still.

 

with what mods?

 

Intake, 4 to 1 DC Sport headers, 2.5" cat back exhaust, Crane hi 6s ignition, 65 shot of N2O, Si Tranny, Clutch master stage 4 clutch, Solid stock motor mounts, Port/Polished head, and slicks. No interior in car

 

did u do this on a G-tech pro or somthing

i know u did not run a 112mph at the track with that 112mph is low 12's

 

the best i ever hit with my all motor DOHC ZC was a 16.1 but it was never tuned right.... i had my 17" rims all around and complete sound system... 2 12" speakers... and full interior... 89 DX..
