Default 96 Honda accord. Slowly turning on

i just put a new starter in my accord this weekend.. friday and saturday it was sounding just fine when i started it up. sunday when i went to go crank it, it "slowly" cranked up. any ideas on what could be the problem now? i have a red top batt, and a month and a half old Alt, so my voltage is fine i suppose... i just cant think of what can make it crank so slow...

"Suppose" is not a word to use. Test the voltage across the battery while running, it should be ~14-14.5V

You know then your battery IS being charged while you're driving. You're good there. You can also test it when it is off, should be around 12V. Now that doesn't necessarily mean the battery is good, just means the voltage is ok. You can have it load tested for free at like an Advance Auto.

Could be ignition switch, could be a *dud* starter, could be that battery. Was it(starter) replaced with an OEM or a rebuilt or an aftermarket?

batt is 12.5 "off"... as far the starter, it is aftermarket..
i took the batt to advance auto 2 weeks ago and it tested just fine. the radar detector i have shows my volts while i'm driving and it reads at 14.0 while i'm playing my system "soft". if i'm playin it hard, then it drops no lower than 13.8 or 13.5.. it kinda sounds like there could be a loose connection. i guess i'm only in a panic b/c i'm at work and i hate when something is wrong with my car and its in need of a fix...

**Update**
Battery test came back as a "good battery"
Volts 12.8

Starter Test
Volts: 6.37v
Amps: .6a

now heres the thing.. my Alt has excessive ripples.
No Load: 14.15v Loaded: 13.55v
.6a .5a

so my starter is not charging right...
they say that it could b a faulty Alt..
but i'm going to check my belts, connections, and grounds..
