How to paint wheels?
I know some folks in here have painted their own wheels. Anybody have any pointers on the how-to's of painting your own wheels. Also, one of my wheels had a chunk taken out by a manhole cover, how do you fix something like that? Any thoughts? Thanks.
*edit* Since this is the appearance forum and nobody looks at posts without pictures. Here is a picture of the wheels. I was trying to sell them but got no response so Im going to change the color. What color do you think would look good?

well I painted the stock wheels on our GSR...so I learned a little something something Step one remove wheels Step two is to make sure your wheels are very clean. Step three take 400wet/dry sandpaper and sand off the original coating...no need to sand too much. I rubbed the coating I sanded off with a damp towel then rinsed the wheels. I dried them and began painting with a "professional strength" paint. Go from side to side of the rim in slow but consistant waves. I put about 3 or 4 coats on total. Looks awesome. Sorry no pix, no linking wire to digicam. When you are finished with the wheels let them dry completly and then put them back and on there you have it...I dont know what to do about that chunk in the rim though. Oh and one more thing, you can put masking tape on the tire so the overspray doesnt get onto your tires. Hope this helps
