Rough engine/vibration at 45mph
I have a 98 Honda Accord and for the past 6-8 months it has a very annoying 'vibration' when you're at a constant speed of 40-50 mph. I've had the timing belt replaced because I was told that this could be the issue. The car has less power that I think it normally has. In reading my manual I see that there is a timing balancer belt that should also be replaced when the timing belt is replaced. I'm not sure if the mechanic I used actually did this or not. This vibration only occurs when I'm driving at a constant speed. If it starts to vibrate I can give it more gas and it goes away. Also, if I keep the idle up, if I drive in 3rd gear it won't do it. Any ideas?
No it's not really a 'vibration', that's just the best way to describe it. Someone told me it might be my EGR valve. Since it only happens when I'm between 45-50 mph I really think it has to be engine related.
