Default Drag Slicks.......looking for some info

What size slicks are most of you running on your civic's? I have a 93 DX hatchback with a 2000 b16a2 head and a 2000 b18c1 block. Plenty of motor work to hit low 12's or high 11's Does anyone know any good sites that sell slicks, and if so please post the address up.

you should start out with some 22x8x13's
when you are pushing more HP like 235+, then it would be good to step up to some 24.5x8.5x13.

I never thought about going down to such a small rim size. I was probably going to run on a 14" rim, so do you have an reccomendations for that, or do you think that 14's would be too big or what? Right now I'm probably putting about 280 h.p. to the wheels, so it's not like my car is weak

oh ok, i didnt know you were a turbo car.

with that much HP, you would need to get some 24.5x8.5x13 slicks

no slick co. will make sizes for 14's for high HP application.
most are in the 13's and 15's

Can I use stock 13" Honda rims if I want to? If so, what size slicks can I use on them?

the stock honda 13" rim are only about 5.5" wide.

most slicks will require at least an 8" wide rim

even a 20x8x14 MT is not happy on a 14x6 rim. I usually cord the edges but a buddy who has the same slicks but on 14x7 rims, never a issue yet.

Best rule of thumb, use a rim as wide as the listed width of the slick you are using.

I was using the 14x20x8 M/T's back in the day on stock steelies.
When I switched to Bogart 14x7, the car ran smoother down the track.
it looked better too.

i ran 20x8x14 mt slicks on some stock wheels and never had a problem.. they worked awesome not to mention they make your gear ratio alot shorter.. i ran consistant 1.9s all motor in my car with them.. But once i went nos they started to suffer..
ps. mickey thompson recommends a 6 inch wheel for this slick..
