My lude is an 98sh with a H23A and mj25 tranny now! I was thinkn it would be nice to have 1st-4th. Out of my sh tranny and into my m2j5 and wichever 5th gear would let me do 80Mph under 3900rpm. I might just take both shafts and the ring gear out the sh and put it in the m2j5 accord tranny. I'm not selling neither one of the trannys and I'm not buying another one. I'm gonna swap it all when I get a clutch I'm in no hurry. But what would u do?

 

I'd use 1st and 5th from the M2J5 and 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and FD from the M2U4.

 

Not possible. 1 and 2 are locked the mainshaft. It would probably be easier to tranfer the entire mainshaft, countershaft, and ring gear to the non SH case. Sometimes 5th gear wont swap out without machine work. Some collars, gear/syncro thicknesses vary on 5th.

yeah i realy want to do it i knew a couple of the gears wont come off but ill probly swap everything but the diff well thanks for the help i just wish i had short gears but 5th be lonnnnnnng i just wonna do 80 at low RPM right now its sitting on 16's and i dont realy want to go bigger so i might be **** out of luck

 

Well after you have the shafts installed, you will be able to make comparisons on 5th gear and see exactly what needs to be done. Its very possible to swap out 5th.

Another viable option is to sell the M2J5 as a "turbo" tranny. Find an M2A4. They have the same .787 5th gear ratio.

 

Lol, I'm curious to see how that mainshaft is going to work out of the SH trans as well...

 

The SH and base mainshaft have the same part number
