Hi, I have a 2001 Odyssey and all of a sudden I am getting crackling and engine noise thru my rear speakers. The radio stopped working and the sound was there even with the van off. I started then stopped then started the van and the noise disappeared and the radio worked again. The next day it did the same thing so I pulled the fuse so my kids would stop freaking out.
This is the factory system with no upgrades. I need my tunes back.

Does it happen with AM, FM and CD, [cass]?

You said, "the sound was there even with the van off" does that mean with engine not running or with the ign. switch off, [key pulled out]? 94

 

This was with the engine off and no key in the ignition. The crackling wasn't very loud. Then I turned the car on - off - on again and it went away. It is happening intermittently. I put the fuse back in yesterday and started the van. It crackled for a few seconds and stopped and then did it a few times while driving. I have to pull the fuse when ever I have my kids in the van because it scares the hell out of them when it happens. Thanks for any help. Forgot, it happens when the radio is off or on, it doesn't matter if AM, FM or CD
