Default Clutch alignment tool ?

Can someone confirm to me that the clutch alignment tool is basically a straight rod having the same diameter as the clutch friction disc bore (I will measure tonight). Or is there something more to it?

Thanks

The very end is also sized to fit snuggly into the pilot bearing in your flywheel.

It makes life a little easier, but it can be done without it.

I got a universal clutch tool at Pepboys and it was pretty worthless. I ended up eyeballing it and was able to get the tranny on in two tries.

Thanks
I will see if I can get the end of the rod machined to the proper dimension at work
