hey guys, new to the site so bear with me. .got a 96 gsr, gsr tranny with what i believe also has an aftermarket lsd in it. so last night i did a quick run with one of my buddies and i started to here this clicking noise when i accelerated. at first i thought it was my passenger side axel so i checked it out and it was completely ripped. so i replaced it with a new one from napa auto parts this morning to find out it was still clicking after i installed it. it only clicks when its in gear. when i push in on the clutch it goes away. could it be the differential? im not sure, dont know much about trannies.

anything will help me out. just dont wanna start looking for a new tranny if its an easy fix. . Thanks

 

what type of lsd is it? are you certain its not trashed? who did you buy it from? and what did they say the type of lsd it was?

 

well its not stamped lsd anywhere on it but i know it is because i can see clear through it where the axels and halfshaft go into. . not 100 percent sure what type of lsd. maybe obx? i cant remember but i know the previous owner had it opened and had it installed

 

either way the trans is still spinning in or out of gear. so it might be a bad bearing or a piece of metal lodged in there. mabey there was something that got sucked into the lsd and caused it to start displaying these symptom(s) that you are experiencing.
