Losing oil too quickly. k20a2
In two weeks I ran near to dry, added some high lateral g's, and my car made funny noises. So the engine is just about torn down, and I'm wondering before I go and ruin everything, what the most likely culprits are.
I'm sick of hearing that the k-series is gonna burn oil and to just accept it. That'd be fine if it was 1q per 3k mi or something but it's not. So if that's what you've come in here to say, please move on.
Now, I may only be burning 1q per 3k, because I'm also leaking from somewhere around the exhaust header. The oil is above the header, making me think it can only be the valve cover gasket, but dear god there is just way too much oil for that. So maybe it's the valve cover gasket and something else. Anyway, if you've experienced some leaks in that area on your k20, please lemme know!
So ya, if you've traced down a spot on a k20a2 that is leaking or burning oil, please leave a comment on this webzone and I'll send you a pizza roll.
