Weird A/C Condenser fan problem
I just replaced the condenser fan motor on my 1997 Honda Civic, but now the Fuse #56 keeps blowing. Apparently the fan moto is pulling too many amps. I can run it with a 30 A fuse, but if I put in a 20 A fuse, it will blow with a few seconds. I haven't measured the current draw of the motor yet, but it feels like the motor and wires feeding it are getting too hot.
Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this? Do I have a bad fan motor? Shouldn't the resistance of the wires to the motor limit the current draw? Any ideas what is causing this, or how to fix it?

Sounds like a shorted winding in the fan motor OR the wrong fan motor all together. The wires going to and from the fan motor shouldn't have much resistance. Nearly all the voltage drop should be in the fan motor itself.
