Cam upgrade impact on gas mileage?
I am thinking of putting a set of Buddy Club Spec 3 cams in my b16a2.
Mods:
SRI
2.5 inch catless to oem muffler
Hondata S100
Will I see a gain or loss in fuel economy with a decent tune? Currently I get 26 - 28 mixed city/highway. I just got 31 on a recent road trip staying under 75.
I searched and the only thread I saw was about someone saying their Toda B's yielded an increase in mileage but it was just one short thread. Thanks in advance!

I noticed some what of a small drop in mpg when I put blox B's in my car, but I also one plyd the headgasket and swapped intake manifolds and t.b. honestly as long as its tuned the mpg difference should be negligible. my motor is a b16a2 as well.
you'd see more mpg's if you ditched that restrictive OEM muffler on the 2.5 exhaust, and went with something better flowing.
As for cams I ran P72, P73, and buddy club 3+'s in my car and they got around the same mileage tuned, with the GSR cams doing better than the ITR's and the ITR's doing better than the Buddy Clubs... it's just adding more air as you step up the size of the cam which requires more fuel, but the mpg gains/losses are in how restrictive your other parts are unless your pushing a stage two or three cam and even then your doing way better than the cars your beating.

Typically as long as you tune it well, you'll experience little if any difference in fuel economy when changing cams. What happens is people start adding performance parts and like to feel the extra power so the stomp on the gas more frequently and mileage decreases. It's not the parts that affects the mileage so much as the corresponding change in driving behavior.
