ok i have a sort of new B18B bottom end it has 60, 000 miles on it and goin to do Ls Vtec. im gettin a B16 head ,Type-r intake monifold, Type-r cams, clutch and LSD

My question is if i do rods and pistons will the bottom end hold strong to a high rev of 82000 RPM, that means can i rev to take RPM evry time i race and not mess anything up. I know u can do LS VTc with it , but i want it to run better and more reliable at high RPM's

yea can rev to 8200...if ur really rebuilding it like say u are then u'llbe fine.....i bring my past 8200 sometimes with no problems at all..but then again my motor was built to go that high

 

Make sure to upgrade the valve springs and retainers if you plan on hitting 8,200 rpm's regularly.

 

If you have the extra cash, get a girdle for extra insurance. Remember to get it machined in and not just bolted on.
