Default Need help guys. This is an EMERGENCY

OK I was trying to tighten the alternator belt with the tire iron and it touched the wire going to the alternator and grounded on the block. A huge spark came from it and now noting turns on. NOTHING! No lights and the car won't start. It' won't even try at all. What could have happened? I checked the alternator relay fuse and it's okay. Is there another fuse I need to check? Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance

Hmm. Maybe check the main relay, check all the fuses and relays in your engine bay fuse box, and check all the fuses under the dash.

I did almost the same thing on a celica once... the owner set the battery in backwards, so the poles were reversed. When I went to lock down the battery cables, it arced huge, and nothing came on.
The answer... The 100A alternator fuse blew, as well as a couple others. (ECU, Main Dist., etc.)

You shouldn't have done any damage to anything else. Get a FLuke and start checking circuits if that doesn't solve it.

Good luck
