Default OEM lugs on aftermarket wheels....

I understand this is not a safe practice but will using OEM lugs on some volk wheels cause any damage to the wheels itself?

I've always heard that Honda uses a rounded seat lug where most wheels take a conical seat. You could potentially mess up a wheel or worse loosen the lugs and loose wheel. Of course it would occur over time.

BTW cool sig. Daijiro was a great racer. I remember Sete winning the next race and dedicating it to him. Too bad his career was cut short!

what he said ^

using the wrong seated lugs will eventually screw up the lugs seating area and may even cause the lugs to come loose during driving.

Thanks for the responses. I am looking into buying a set of used CEs but from the pics he sent, he was using OEM lugs on the wheels but he also claims that they were only on for a short period of time when he was between different sets of lugs.

Daijiro was a great racer. I beleive he still hold the # of wins in a season in the 250cc class. It was a fluke accident that took his life. No one can tell exactly what happened that day on his home course, Suzuka. RIP Daijiro.
