B16A Turbo or NA?
I'm planning on building a B16A and want it to do a 1/4 time of mid to high 13's. This will be going in a 93 civic hatchback. I just wanted your guy's opinion on whether to go turbo or NA. I am in this for the long run and am a very big fan of reliability. If I run a B16a SirII with a turbo how long could i expect to have everything going until it blows up. Also if you guy's can give me suggestions on ways of accomplishing my goals on other setups regarding B16's let me know. Thanks!!!!

my suggestion go turbo, as long as you get a hondata and have it tuned it should be very reliable. tuning is the key. also do research alot of it, you will save money if you have a plan on what you want. What are your intentions with the hatch. drag, auto x, or what?

NA!!! get a B18c block and a B16 head. Do a bit of work, run 12.5:1 compression with JUN III and other goodies and you'll be where you want with complete reliability. Same power every time all the time.
By the way this is still me i was on my friends name. But I intend to use my hatch as a daily driver obviously probably more of the Autocross route. Also, I've heard that all i need to do is add some bolt-ons plus CTR piston's and I should be running a 13 sec 1/4 all motor. I'm a little skeptical of turbo because my friend had a 00 SI turbo'd with all the motor stuff done and everytime i went to the shop to hang out it was there, blown up.

I'm going to have to doubt that you would be in 13's with CTR pistons and minor bolt ons. Do stock CTR's run 13's in the 1/4 mile?

a CTR is a heavier shell than an EG
a CTR does not run 13's out of the box

if u dont go b18 (which would be easier)...heres how i look at it, turbo on b16 hatch, yur running 13's with a little work. na in a b16 running 13's, you'd be one bad mamajama... its all what u want out of it.... if i was u and had the money i would go na, or turbo but upgrade internals and run some sick boost.....
good luck either way

i had b16 turbo ,was pretty reliable.only reason i dont have now was because of money issues ,but it was fast .best time was 12.80 with only 9 lbs.good luck
Ever thought about nitrous?
Or a Supercharger?
I personally think nitrous is a great way to go. You'll keep your reliability, yet be fast when you want too.
Turbo is a lot of work, and same with an N/A build...
But if I had to choose, I'd turbo it.

how about pic up a jrsc for about 1200-1300 , crv pulley(10 psi), get hondata 2b, i/h/e , some drag radials and a good amount of tunning, that'll put ya in the low to mid 13's , RYAN AUTRY on clubsi ran a 13.4 with that setup, w/ no tuning on the hondata, 220 whp......then u have reliability, and instant boost(closest thing to being n/a, dont have to wait for it)...lol
