I have a pr3 and is the limiter suppose to kick in at 7800?? cause thats where mine kicks in. I have a 98 gsr cluster in it to and also when I had mt 89 crx one it bounced at 7800 to. I was thinking im losing 500 rpm in every gear if thats the case, cause a gsr rev limiter kicks at 8300 I believe?? + =

I believe the rev limiter is set at 8200 RPM. Funny how yours kicks in early. Are you SURE you have the PR3 and not the PW0???

It's an auto ecu. I had the same problem. Does vtec kick in at like 4800rpm? Just buy a chip of ebay to fix it and remove the speed limiter. But try and get one with the right rev limiter. The best I could find was 8600rpm.

 

The auto ecu kicks in at 7600, the manual pwo is 8000. Why not use a gsr computer?

 

Are you throwing any codes?

 

What about the secondaries butterfly?
Unless you have an ITR(modified) or a Skunk 2 intake,you may not have the full potential of that motor...

 

i have a mugen chip pr3 ecu if your interested....the way i drive i need a rev limiter

the tach has to be accurate and I also have a Vafc. I have a jg edelbrock manifold and that **** is slowing me down too!! I am interested in that mugen pr3, get back to me

this is a reply for model x if a auto ecu kicks vtec in at 4800 what does a manual one kick in at?

 

why dont u run a GSR ECU.. either that or choipp ur ECU.. then ur problems solved.

 

my old pr3 kicked in at 7800 and vtec at 4600......new pr3 10500 and 4400
