Default 96 jdm type r tranny in ls

wats up honda tech, i recently purchased wat i believe is a 96 jdm itr tranny but it has no differential in it. the case is also marked v4d on it in black ink? i counted to teeth and figurd the ratios which are identical to that of the b16 del sol. so my question is can i directly bolt in my ls differential and ring gear in the type r tranny? and will my ls fifth gear fit directly on the main and counter shaft of the type r? if no what will be my easiest way to run the type r 1st - 4th and ls 5th. i have a complete hydro ls transmission i can use any parts off of? any help would be greatly appreciated thanks!

it should work for the ls 5th as well as the diff. the diffs are all the same(from what ive experienced) but the ring gear and the bearings are different on it. you have taper bearings, full sheilded bearings, or opened case bearings. which is basically like sheilded bearings but with out the shield on both sides. the sheilded ones come packed with grease which might harm the trans if it mixed with the oils in it.

the ls 5th should have the same diameter as that of the 5th gear in the transmission that you have. if you can manage to get the trans taken apart and you can recognize which gear is 5th, then compare the inner diameters. if they are the same, then you can run it. if not, better stick to the 5th gear that you already have, save some money and just buy a new set of syncros and call it a day
