I need some information on a B23A1. I have never heard of this motor. I am looking at buying a 91 Prelude Si and it has this motor in it. There is some pretty bad rod knock in the motor and I am trying to decide if it would make sense to rebuild the motor that is in it or if I should just swap it. If you guys would give me a little info on what is going to be cheapest and easiest that would be awesome. Thanks in advance.

 

You're not finding any information because it's an H23A1, not a B23A1. Searching should take care of the rest.

 

If you say it's a '91 it came stock with either a B20A5 or B21A1, or could have been swapped and have a B20A. If it were swapped beyond stock form then it sure as hell wouldn't be a B23A1, that motor does not exist.

 

Ah....the Sacred and legendary B23...I believe Zeus tasked Hephastus with forging this block and assembly sometime ago before the great war with the Titans, and has since been lost deep within the bowels of Tartarus....good luck on your quest in finding this mythical construction.
