Default FJ Automotive 2010 Vitara Build project

Well guys..
After 3 years in business time has come for us to make our own big project and we are teaming up with some of our suppliers who are going to be helping us, and some that are pending to join in this project.

We are looking into moving to a new/bigger facility in the next 2-3 months and this car will be the first project. We look forward to start offering Mechanical services such as part installation, swaps and tuning by the end of the year.

First of all thanks to some of the companies that have already confirmed their interest in helping us out:
Bisimoto Engineering - Thanks to Hedi and Bisi for their inmediate "Im IN!" on this project. They will be in charge of doing the complete head (Cam, Cam Gear, Valvetain, Port Job)and possibly tuning.

RC Autoworks - They will be building Manifold, Downpipe and custom Intercooler setup

SpeedFactory - Thanks to James for helping in doing our Head Venting and Catch can setup

Bullseye Power- Thanks to Wild Bill for offering their help.

Pro Drag Chassis, El Paso - Thanks to Eric Wortner for taking care of the roll cage

This car i want it to be our Business card or presentation for shop so we will use all the products that we sell on our online store. The car will have Show and Go and will remain in streetable form, which means that we will retain all/most interior components..
We will build a Vitara piston setup that we intend to push it atleast to 450-500whp (more if possible). Our goals is to be the fastest Vitara setup and we expect to run 10.39 or faster. It will be difficult to do it in El Paso since we are at almost at 4000 ft above sea but we will try as much as possible to run it in El Paso... otherise we will take the car out of state.

Chasis:
We got a good condition shell to work with

Better rod to stroke ratio than d16 which means will rev higher easier
D16 R/S ratio = 1.54

JDM D15B R/S ratio = 1.61

Displacement >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> RS

Remember, people consistently and constantly swap GSR cranks for LS cranks to get "crappier" RS and then turn around and rev to 10.5-11k rpm. So, RS has less importance than you think. Personally, I would have went with a Z6 block and head.

Well we don't want to do exactly what everyone else is doing.
We want to push as much power possible with the smaller displacement engine. I like the idea of using the underdog engine.
In fact our design for the usdm d15 forged rods is near completion so hopefuly we will see ppl reviving d15 engines and building them to be competitive with much less money than what it is now.

Technically they shouldnt but let me explain...It will only work on the JDM D15B OBDI crank and here is the explanation.

B18B and D16 rod bearing size are the same. the only difference is that the bearing on the B18B is slightly wider than the D16...

Now JDM D15B cranks share the same rod journal size as the D16 (And B18B, and B16)

Now... The D16 and JDM D15B FJ R Spec Con rods were designed a little bit wider on the big end than any other rod in the market to be able to accept both bearings.. So if you use the FJ rods you can use a B18B rod bearing as well.... If you use any other D series rod and you put the B18 bearings then the gearing will most likelly go pass the side edges of the rod.

Anyways.... we got the Z6 head and it has already been sent to Bisimoto Engineering for some love.. Portflow head porting and Bisimoto Spec Head.
