looking to see if anyone can tell me if this is a full race manifold or a knock off? also both my far right and far left manifold bolts backed out,i had them helicoled and they backed out again.does anyone think that the flange may be warped or what might of caused this?

i don't know if it's FR or not but it looks pretty good. Welds look solid. What are you torqueing the bolts to? And have you checked the head flange for flatness. It almost looks uneven just from the picture

yea just by looking at it here it does look a little warped.i didnt install it the shop i had working on my car did and thats why im working on my own **** from now on!I didnt check the head yet but its going to the machine shop anyway on Tuesday because im getting time serts put in and a valve job

 

so will it be fine again if i get it resurfaced?

ya, thats not a fullrace mani, pretty sure 90% of those welds would of been robotic tig welded.

 

Looks of good quality material. Hell with what company it is, put it on and start rocking the roads already.

 

exactly. its still a quality looking mani. it should make power for sure. and by the looks of the condition of it, if none of the welds have cracked, you should be good to go.

 

i had it on the car for 3 years now but started having a problem with the manifold bolts backing out,im just going to resurface the flange and use it again.i just wasnt sure if its a full race .....just wanna know if it is or not because thats what i paid for and what im suppose to have

 

try some copper locking nuts and some locking tabs

 

early f-r manis were all hand welded(iirc). also IIRC the serial number for full races are engraved in the turbo flange.

 

Even so, that's not a Full-Race manifold. 100% not a FR manifold, its a bummer you were told it was.
