????1990 CRX SI Body Harness removal???
Whats up guys. Unfortunately I just swap in my ls on the new crx. It is ready but saw that the ecu wires are cut and sh**. My plan is to remove the dash board and use the body harness from the my old 1989 crx si body harness and swap it into the 1990 crx si. Is there anyway easier way to do this than having to remove the whole complete harness (head-tail) and just remove the whatever is on the firewall (head). does the Head of the body harness plug into something that leads it to the tail? Help!
the chassis harness is not one complete harness that runs from the front to the back of the car. you have a front chassis harness and a rear chassis harness.

to remove the front, you don't have to pull the dash either. it makes it easier to reach a couple of the connectors, but it isn't necessary.
however, there will be a problem with switching from a 90-91 harness to an 88-89 harness. there is one connector at the driver's side strut that was changed from 89 to 90. the 88-89 has a rectangular 6 wire connector and the 90-91 has a round 8 wire connector. I don't know what the other two wires are for so don't ask, lol. this is the spot on the driver's side where it connects to the engine harness. so unless you have the 89 si engine harness as well, you might be getting into more than you want to do.
here is the 88-89 connector

here is the 90-91 connector

what I would do if I were you is cut the ecu connectors from the 89 harness you have and then cut the ecu connectors from the 90 harness and then solder the 89 connectors onto the 90 harness. there is no difference between the 88-89 and 90-91 harnesses at the ecu. don't forget to use heat shrink as well to cover the soldered points.

Seriously I can save myself some time just soldering the ecu connector but the one thats been cut is identical (colors) as the body harness from my 89 BUT it has some empty pins not identical to the 89. which leaves me in the "wtf?" mood.
