Default d16a6 rev limiter problems

well i recently re installed my d16a6 motor and i am running a 91 crx pm6 ecu and my rev limiter kicks in at 6800rpm. I am throwing codes 6.9.10 and i checked the distributor and the coolant temp sensors and the intake manifold sensors and everything is connected and i didnt throw these codes until i swapped the motor...well any help would be appreciated.

reset your ECU first then try. sounds like your engine is stuck in cold mode. 6800 is high enough anyho on a d16a6 cause mine stops pulling at 6400 rpms ish

the redline is 6500...and i think 6800 is fuel cutoff anyway...

Isn't the rev limiter supposed to be at 6800? Like 89_CRX_Si said, don't bother shifting the A6 higher than 6500 rpm. It makes peak power at 6000 RPM, and just falls flat on its face past 6500.

dont rev past 6200 sounds bad feels bad dont pull hard. i reved past 7500 once in first somehow. accidently thats twice now and still runnnig strong but dont push your luck.

Newayz hows the engine/ new car desicion coming? i like the idea of a B16a or LS/Vtec

i usually shift around 7k when im getting on it. and my rev limiter is 7500. but since peak power is 6k, i will just shift a 6500 now. no use in possibly blowing the engine. good info.

Redline is 6500rpm and the fuel-cut is 7200rpms on a d16a6. Realise that the stock tach is not at all accurate a high rpm. If you really want to know, get an aftermarket tach.

Your point......???? you can hear the difference in tone and feel the power loss then shift.

Know your car before you redline your engine. You should be able to reverse it at 5500-6500 rpm looking out the back window and hold it at that RPM and know that sound.

At least thats what i was told at autocross lessons
