Okay I have spent several days reading forum after forum and have come to the conclusion that Idk what the hell im going to do. I have a '92 Integra GSR with a blown tranny. I never got to drive the car to it's real potential because I bought it with the tranny already clanking. So IDK what the ys1 really felt like when you opened it up. Anyways I wont to buy a replacement tranny asap!

Do I:
1) buy another GSR ys1
or
2) swap for a B16 (s1 or J1)

I think I know the differences in the transmissions in the fact that S1's and J1's are short geared and almost identical? and YS1 will be a good highway/everyday tranny...

But if I want a car that im going to run N/A until I can afford forced induction later on, but at the same time I want some pep and to be able to feel what my B17 is really capable of which should I buy?
This may be a dumb question but I cant come to a conclusion. So let me know your choice and a good reason why?

I have a gsr in my ef sedan and it tops out at 115 it hits the limiter I would go with gsr 1-4 ls 5 its the best of both worlds at 70 I'm at 4300 rpm

 

thats what i have is gsr 1-4 and ls 5th with a 4.40 ring gear on the differential.

but seriously, send me your trans and ill rebuild it

Honestly, fix the YS1 or find another (nearly impossible). The 92-93 cable transmissions feel infinitely better than the POS, sloppy, weak 90-91's that you can't even get parts for from Honda.

to find anthor cable gsr trans is going to be really hard since only about 3000 gsr's were made, id rebuild it

 

i personally charge a good price and have already sold over 5 transmissions, not to mention i have a line of people waiting to get one from me just from here. pm me for a price. i gurantee you will not be dissapointed

 

I would love to rebuild the tranny but idk if its fixable. Plus i dont want to burn a hole in my pocket like the bolt blew a hole in the tranny

haha well I looked it up again and only 2200 were made, so leave only 2199 left now

but sorry to see that maybe its still fixable?

 

Looks like just find a 92-93 clutch housing and replace. Unless it was run without fluid.

If he would tell me what city and state he lived in my car came with a spare gsr trans that was a grinder but the case is still good I might be able 2 help
