Default Horrible sound in my 01 LX... Ideas?

Ok, so this is super weird. I have an 01 LX. Manual Trans. Everything is stock. It has been making this HORRIBLE noise lately, but ONLY when it's very wet out. I work at a dealership (Lexus, not Honda, unforunately) so a couple of the techs have looked at it, and can not figure it out. Maybe someone has had the same problem or might have a fresh idea?

AFTER I drive through a puddle, there's a sort of slapping (like a flat tire) sound that is either coming from the front passenger wheel well area, or from under my car. The techs at work thought water could be getting into an ABS sensor and throwing my brake on for that wheel. Turns out I don't have ABS. I can feel the shaking & vibration in the pedals and steering wheel. I mean it is LOUD.

I took my boyfriend for a ride in it last night to see what he thought it might be. He said he felt it more to his left than on the right... meaning it is probably coming from under the car. All I can think of is like, water in the tranny? Maybe a bad bearing? It's just odd that WATER is the variable...

Any ideas?

Has anybody had a close look at your CV boots, maybe one is torn open and it is picking up water when you go through the puddle, it would throw the balance out, [you would feel it] and probably be pretty loud.94
