Spoon N1 axleback
Ok I now I sound stupid when I ask this question...but I would like to know the answer... first off what is the diameter of the spoon rear section(2.5 maybe??) well anyway if I wanted a full cat back what else do I need?? I heard the type one b pipe goes well with the spoon rear section.. does it would I need anything else to have a cat-back... ( hope you get what I mean) sorry I am just not sure how many sections there are in a cat back and what each is called...
I think its actually 2 1/4. im not sure though. The Japanese N1 rules say that the exaughst size cant be larger than stock. But yea, i hear the type 1 b pipe is a good match. Thats all you need to have the "cat back". I have the JDM DC header with 2.5 collector, and the 2.5 test pipe, 2.5 piping (cheap muffler shop) till the spoon axle back.

Spoon n1 bottle necks down to 2in at the flange.
that's only the old version. the new version is 63 mm all the way through.

Its loud but its a good loud, sounds awesome at wot. My friend gained midrange but lost top-end (he went from a Tanabe RM to the N1 spoon). I like the fact that it is small and packs a punch.
He just showed you a picture of the flange. On the older ones, that is the exact location of the bottle neck. Have you ever seen one, or are you just going by rumors?
if you look at that pic compared the "old design", you will see the obvious difference. the old design had a distinct reduction in diameter before the flange, the new one does not. and john doesnt have that exhaust anymore so i dont think he will be taking any more pics.

-who has seen the old and new versions sitting next to each other before, and just one has a bottleneck

Some people will never understand. If you've seen an old one form the same view, hte reduction in diameter is OBVIOUS. This one, obviously does not have the same bottleneck.
I'm not trying to be an ***, i want to find out for a fact. I was planning of getting this exhaust but after reaseaching and finding out about the reduction i kinda stayed away from it. If what your saying it true (and i hope it is) i may still get it. Like i said i want to see with my own eyes.

The new Spoon N1 mufflers DO NOT have a bottleneck at the flange.
This is fact. Please do not try to argue with fact.

Stop doubting John, he's 100% right.

Well then where can you buy the new design? I talked to Dave at r&d and he said it still has a bottle neck. So then i'm assuming he is selling the "old" version?
