Similar thing happened to my car.

I would suggest cleaning out your entire intake manifold. To clean it out the best, I would take off the entire manifold, then take off the TB, and clean the inside of both the TB, and the rest of the manifold.

If you don't believe me, take a peek behind your throttle plate. There'll be a nice thick coating of black greasy carbon buildup. Also, the TPS could be out of alignment as well.... TPS's are supposed to last a lifetime though...

When was the last time you replaced your spark plug wires? Cap and rotor? Who knows, maybe the O2 sensor is getting a little bit fowled up. Or the air filter could be clogged, or the fuel filter could be cloggin up as well...

Fix the most simple/cheapest problems first, then move down the list.

(replace TB and manifold gaskets as well)

Good suggestions Mr. Todd... I would be tempted to say that it's an ignition problem. My mustang would do the same thing, though sometimes it would hestitate and shake so bad while I was cruising in third! I just replaced the cap and rotor, and wires and it went away. But yeah, check the TB, etc. Usually dirty manifolds and TB's cause bad idle, but it could affect your driving too. Let us know!

full tune up -plugs,cap, rotor, pcv valve, air and fuel filters, injection cleaner, and while you at it do a valve ajustment.

MrTodd where the hell were you six months ago. I had the same kind of stumble problem. Turns out that the PCV valve was older than me and was causing a build up of "stuff" in the intake runners. Once I replaced the valve it did it for about another month. Now it only happen once in a while when it get really hot out.

Good luck
