Default gsr case replacement..

so guys im not having anyluck with my swap i rebuilt an ls for my eg and bought a gsr trans,

the trans was on craigs no pics, i called the guy, i told him i needed mounts and shift linkage he says , ill throw those in, i was like cool ill meet you you werever, he says its covered in oil and grease or whatever and i asked him if there was anything wrong of course he says no,

anyway i cleaned it out inside and out, it was late and i got lazy so i said ill wait to clean the bottom till its in the car, so i did the swap and when i got put the fluid in i noticed the leak, and the jb weld,

so my question is can i just put a new case on there no prob?, will i need to get special tools?, will i need to have an experianced trans expert to swap cases if possible?, will other cases fit if i find them cheaper?

also i did get to drive it once before car quit running, (no spark issue later thread)
and every gear SEEMED fine, babied it cause its got a new clutch,

any input or advice plz let me know this car was my "daily" a couple weeks ago i need it bad
