ok so i have a 91 crx with a B18a2
for some reason when the engine is cold it jumps RPMs
i crank it up and let it idle and it starts at 1k and jumps up to 3k and back down to 1k and back up to 3k.. and so on and so on
any clue why it does this?
any help would be greatly appreciated

Clean your IACV on the back of our intake plenum.

 

How fast does it idle surge? Could also try cleaning the FITV

is there detailed instructions somewhere for cleaning the IACV like was given for the FITV?
should i try doing both of these things?

mybikeisblack.. im not sure what u mean by idle surge? im guessing that u mean how fast does it go back and forth?
i would say maybe.. 1 to 2 seconds? its not like really really fast.. but it is rather fast

For the iacv

1-2 seconds for a surge like that would be considered fast. Usually when the iacv is clogged, your car will idle low like it wants to die. And when your fitv needs cleaned it would surge like you describe
