I need a new tranny because when my clutch went out i was driving down the highway and the only gear i could get the car into without having it turned off was third and now that i got a new clutch my third gear is shot so i need a new tranny. i dont want the one that i have rebuilt because its from the h23 that was originally in the car.. i have an h22a4 off a '00. so my question is what kind of tranny should i get? oh and if im buying a tranny i might as well buy a stage 1 or 2 clutch and a lighter flywheel as well.

 

you can get an M2Y4 which came on the base models... or if you feel like spending some cash, you could go for a jdm tranny with LSD like the T2W4 from a Euro R.

 

I always have to chime in whenever this comes up but, thecirclingsky is right, if you got the money buy the euro r trans, I love mine.

here is an example. very rare to find the tranny without the motor. still overpriced if you ask me. Mine came with my euro r swap, and I love it!

 

also where is the best place to find either one

 

Just put out want adds in the marketplace, that's what I did and it only took about a week to get a response. I paid $1500+shipping which is modest since mine hardly was used after being purchased with a full Euro R swap, I've seen people pay/charge over $2k for them though.
