Pulled the starter out of my 1996 Honda Integra Type-R. It is stamped Honda SM-422 12 Mitsuba starter. Trying to find a replacement. Any help is greatly appreciated. Already tried a GSR starter and the splined shaft that fits into the flywheel is very different. Thanks!

The starter seemed to test just fine, although they could not test the solenoid. Battery is good. Here's the story...
Went to go pickup a pack of cigarettes, left the car running at the gas station. The car started up just fine, but I could hear a squeak. Found out that it is leaking P/S fluid and the reservoir was nearing empty, so I refilled it today. Anyways, came home, no problems, nothing. Realized I forgot to get something, went out to start car up and it just clicks once when you turn the key. Nothing else. One click, battery is good. No prior problems, thanks for any help!

Well you are trying to turn over the car have someone tap the starter with a hammer. If it starts to work when you tap it you 100% know it is the starter.
If you want to test the solenoid take the starter out and hook your battery up to it. When you hook it up, the starter drive gear should pop up to engage. If it doesnt the solenoid is bad.

Could be a possible bad crank sensor, that would also cause the car not to start randomly
