final drive swap

Default final drive swap

i just purchased a 90 crx hf for parts, can i swap the final drive from my si tranny into the hf tranny, just trying to buy time until i get a new transmission

If you swap the final drive you have to swap the main shaft also.

not true - to swap only the final drive, you need to swap the countershaft (using the HF gears on the Si countershaft) and the Si ring gear onto the HF differential, not the mainshaft

Lol I know the feeling, I can do 70 mph on the highway in 3rd and still be under 3500 rpm.

I'm sorry for giving the wrong information, I'm not sure how I confused the mainshaft with the countershaft. If you ever need correct information, you can always count jlicrx, he is very good at answering a broad range of EF questions.

And to thiendegigolo, I live in Ruston(northern LA).
