Default $1K; WWJD?

First let me say I dont drag/street race anymore so I want a reliable build. That being said, im willing to put about a grand towards my/a motor that will last yet be fun.
I have a B18B in my 98 Integra w/ what a buddy tells me is a Type-R trans (it was worked on before I bought the car, I dunno how to tell). The motor needs a rebuild all four cylinders are off, ranging from 135-145 says the compression test. And it needs an Idle Air Control Sensor.

A. Is it worth the (B18B) rebuild for a fun daily driver; what compression?
B. Where can I find a B20Z? cause I cant find the Ish anywhere
C. If were to find a B20Z, would a lightened flywheel do me good or would it just be a waste on the stock motor?
D. What do you think of a B20B compared to LS

Big ups to anyone willing to answer any of these questions for me; Please specify (ABC, etc.)

e. Anyone ordered from tiger motors? I looked it up BBB rates it as an F for 22 Complaints
f. What factory piston options would I have for the B20B anything better than the regular Z pistons (just saying cause Type-R & GSR's run under $200 and I can pick up a Tiger B20B for $600 = under budget vs. B20Z $850 = getting closer)

google is your friend. NO normal stock piston will work b20...2.0 liters...84mm bore not 81mm.

also remember you CAN'T use the CRV trany. and you are doing an illegal swap it will not BAR.

Yeah, I figured the B18 Pistons would be too small but was wondering if H-Series would. Anyhow, ive got a B18B setup in my Integra and Type-R trans, as previously mentioned. Didnt know what BAR meant but am familiar with google and took your advice: If the engine came from a same year or newer car, then it can be a legal swap. If not, then no.(b20Z in my 98 Teg) https://honda-tech.com/forums/acura-integra-6/bar-ls-gsr-swap-2522429/. Used the search button to try and find out about MD BAR and came up short. So, since I live in MD which should have much less strict emissions than California, should I be okay? Thanks for the info thus far, keep it coming. Id like to settle on a motor ASAP

i have never heard of swapping h and b stuff. I have looked into it all either. It's kind like emissions or state inspection... another way big brother likes to crap on our fun lol.

Yes you are right about the year thing, but you cannot swap a light truck engine into a car. i was not worried about it.. i still have a b20 in my sol. but in VA everything is illegal. you can't modify a car at all.

well hes not from Cali, so i don't think he has to worry about that, most other states if they have emmissions testing just put you on the sniffer and if you pass, you pass, ooo yeah if you have OBD-II then they check to make sure you don't have any CEL's

Not if they're oem pistons. In an ls bottom end with an ls head, 3 different oem pistons would net a mid 11 compression ratio according to http://www.zealautowerks.com/bseries.html

Does the car have bolt-ons already?

I'd just stick with what you already have if you're on a budget. Make sure you've got a decent intake/header/exhaust, toss on a s2/blox im and some crower 403 cams...and a tune.

This sounds like MD emissions..."Sniffer-pass", lol. Also, in MD we only need to have our cars inspected once when we buy it. Its supposed to be the worst out of most states but mine passed.

I'd steer clear of Tiger Japanese. Doing a search for them on this forum will be an eye-opener. Go with HMotors...proven time and time again to be the safest place to a motor.

this place in VA is very good

http://www.japaneseengineimport.com/

what part of MD you from? I'd probably re-build the LS completely that way it has zero miles on it opposed to a motor with 30-50k on it. You cant beat fresh for reliability.
