so i recently changed the alternator belt but now everytime i turn on the car it makes a long screeching sound that can last up to 10-15 seconds nd then it willl go away. is there something i missed, did i not tighten it enough ? if anyone can share some knowledge that will help, thanks in advance.

 

A screeching belt usually means its too loose. As it heats up a belt will shrink and the noise goes away. Try adding some more tension to it.

check your ps belt too while your at it

 

just finished and yeah i had to add more tension cause now it doesnt make the sound, and i dont have ps =/, thanks a lot though guys !
