What is this connector on my harness?
I have a 92 Si and I noticed a strange orange connector on the side of the driver side shock tower (below, by the alternator). The green and the orange wire coming from it are cut.. I am wondering what it is and why someone cut it? It is a part of the car harness, not the engine harness. I have a 92 so there shouldn't be ABS.. unless it is not the original body harness?
I can't confirm, but because it's orange, i think it has to do with the SRS system. More than likely, an interconnect for one of the impact sensors to the front of the car for frontal collisions
92's aren't supposed to have ABS though. And I don't have any other orange connectors anywhere on my harness. I'm more concerned with why someone would cut the wires. My PS works fine..
i am almost srue when i help buddy do a ABS delete on db8 he had orange connectors in it
idk tho ^ deetz may be right i thought all SRS connectors were yellow tho

Hmm.. the SRS thing sounds more like it, even though I also though they were all yellow connectors. I know ABS is orange but 92's don't have ABS, and wouldn't I have more orange connectors throughout my harness if I had a 94-95 harness?
If its SRS, I wonder why the wires would be cut. I took out my SRS when I changed the steering wheel recently, and it was in tact so I doubt there was ever a collision with the car.

Ah, ok. So even the non ABS cars had that plug so you can hook up ABS if you wanted to get it?
Then there is no reason for those 2 wires to be cut on mine.. wtf.. stupid previous owner.

ABS was offered in some non-US models in '92, particularly the JDM models. I wouldn't be surprised if it was offered in CDM or EDM models, some of which are LHD models. They probably just used the same harness, which had the ABS connector on it.

Can anyone give me some more info on this please? This thing is really annoying me because it looks like a previous owner spliced this connector in maybe, since the wires are revealed and now cut. But what the hell could have been there?
Ok, if its ABS why do I only have that one connector? I thought ABS has multiple orange connectors, including some on the passenger side? I've seen 94-95s with a bunch of orange connectors but this is a 92 without ABS
The ones on the pass side connect to the abs pump looks like mine that's it's own harness. Then the orange connector you have is part of the chassis harness.
Ok I'm lost. Your trying to find out if that's for ABS and the original chassis harness right? Where they cut the wires @ that's where that connector is part of the chassis harness and branches off to that connector if that makes any sense.
Well I am pretty sure it is the original chassis harness. According to other people, my 92 shouldn't have any ABS plugs. I have this one, but it looks weird. I am not sure if someone spliced it in and why would they have done that? There is nothing plugged into the connector, and the 2 wires are cut.
I can't really understand what your saying, haha

And if all EG chassis harnesses have this plug for ABS even when they don't have ABS, then why would mine be cut? It just makes no sense to me and I am trying to figure out the exact situation, so I don't really have a specific question to ask
