em1 oil issues!

Default em1 oil issues!

is it normal for a em1 to burn a quart of oil every month..i have checked everything in the car and no leaks anywhere..i use royal purple 10-30..?

could be your valve seals or rings mines doing the same thing so im building it next month

The B16A in that car is 10 years old now. A combination of some wear on the piston rings, as well as the valve seals start to dry out over time are what lead to burning oil.

It is not uncommon for it to use oil month to month. Depending on how you drive it will affect consumption also.

well i changed the oil the other day,its only got 73,000 miles,but i am running e85 on it...could it be cause of that..i also drive it hard..3 out of seven days a week..

it effects some hoses and parts differently yes. the main concern is if you run it in a vehicle it was not intended to be in, the engine will be running lean as fawk!

mines is tuned on e85 new fuel rail filter pump and new gas tank,and injectors along with fuel lines right before i dynoed....yes you do have to change the main fuel line from filter to fuel rail...i got mines made at a hydraulic shop with heavy duty fittings...
