So I finally have all the parts and hardware I need for my 5spd conversion.
I was looking at the motor mounts and I noticed the LX 5spd version rear mount has a metal piece bolted on top of it.
I had an old one laying around so I unbolted it and it weighs about 3-4 lbs.!

I kind of remember seeing it somewhere what it's for but I can't find the website anymore and I want to know if it's okay to take it off. It's not that it weighs a lot, since my car is completely stock and it's heavy anyway, I just don't understand the purpose of having that weight.

I also have the empty space of the mount filled with 60A Polyurethane, if it matters.

the diagram shown on Majestic Honda (http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/) for 97 LX 4dr 5Spd doesn't have that piece. it's just the rubber piece and the housing for it...
