cdm tig???
so imlooking in to a tig welder to do some alum. and ss stuff on my car. i really want a inverter tig and have looked at all the big us brands and just cant justify spending 3k+ on a welder for home use right now if i had a shop i could see it, but this will just be for home/car stuff.i know its not a miller of lincon but how bad are they? i dont really expect it to last me 20 years but i dont want to wast $$$ ether.
i have been looking at the everlast 250ex power tig spicificly.
i looked around on there forum and it sounds like they have some small problums but from what i read they were all fix vary fast with phone/email support and not that big of a deal
just wanted to see what you guys thought of it.

I got mine from Everlast. Works well, no complaints. I emailed them an offer for the 200DX. They were looking for 1100 or so and I offered them 900. They emailed me back and let me have it for 950 shipped. The 250ex would be a little too much for you, don't you think? How much 1/2 inch plate will you be welding?
so how long have u had your everlast tig? anything wrong with it out of the box? do tell. all the info you have about it.i want the higher duty cycle and the power to do biger stuff if i need. and it comes with a water cooled toruch too
Yes please tell us how it is?
Does it have adjustable background and peak for the pulser? What is "Pulse time on" and "pulse amps" is that like peak amps?
What kind of circuit would I need to run this off of?
It even uses dinse connector for the torch and clamp so you should be able to buy other company torch parts that is really nice
thank you

I am old school and originally learned heliarc back in the day so this tig machine is all new to me. It was boxed up pretty nice and the customer service was top notch. No complaints with the company. The machine has a lot of buttons and ***** that I have to learn more about. It has pulse, but I haven't tried it yet. I got it fine tuned to weld some aluminum and then I gave stainless a try. I was concerned about buying it since the price was so cheap. But, the machine works great, I am very happy with it. Just make sure you get a big enough bottle of argon as I bought a little one and run out quite frequently. One thing I was surprised about was that the welder came with a regulator which was nice also.
I already had a 220/50 amp switch in the circuit box in my garage. I didn't use the plug that came with the welder because it is an old style that isn't used anymore. I just went to Lowes and got a plug and outlet and wired it in myself. If you don't know anything about electrical wiring, it's best to have someone do it for you.

Alex, take a look at these videos. The machine seems to work great but who knows how reliable they are though. Take a look at how well there warranty is and stuff, I think you should give it a try.

Oh, I forgot to mention before. There was a crack on the front cover when I recieved mine. I emailed them some pics of it and the next day the emailed me a tracking number for a new cover. Pretty good service if you ask me.
yeah it sounds like they are ontop of there game as far as customer service is concerned. but im still abit worried about the maichines longgevity/quality.
I saw someone mentioned in your rHMT thread, but have you looked at Thermal Arcs? Those machines are freaking killer! Super easy to use, and it's got all the usual bells and whistles. I've seen used 185s go for as little as $1000 lately (CL and ebay). The new model is a 200a unit though, so they fetch a little more ($2500 on ebay), but having that little bit of extra power would help
i did look at the ta 185 and the 200 but most of them go around 2500-2700 and more for the 200. i am kinda looking at the dynisty 200dx but i think its just out of my reach.
Dynasty's are awesome, and some of the best welders I've used (I used the 200dx at a production job, and then the 350 at a welding competition), so if I could afford them the 350 would be in my garage right now
. But I also had the pleasure of using a TA300 (Pro-wave model, not the older GTSW) during class most of last year, doing pipe, and I was pretty much sold on them. I've definitely found the 185s for around $1000 used (decent-great condition), and IMO it's gonna be HARD to find any other AC/DC inverters with all the features for near that price, that aren't Chinese. But **** if you can find a newer Dynasty for around $2000-$2500 I'd be all over that too. Are you trying to buy new or used, or just what ever you can find the best deal on?

im just looking to get the most welder for my $$$ new or used.i have definetly decided that i only want a inverter.if i can find a dynasty for 2k-2.2k$ id be all over it but dont really want to spend more that that. and i still need a argon tank and that kinda stuff.so if i can find a complet setup for a good price it would be a plus.
