4g help!
Well I got a project coming up for a friend and was looking for some help over here from u guys. I am mostly a prowler but let's see what you can do for me.
I am working with a 88 Civic and the motor went bad. He got a new shortblock and I voluntered to do the swap for him. Just making sure their are no shocks. I have swapped a B16 into into a 5th gen. Hatchback and also done a few D series tranny swaps. Anyone have any tips/walkthroughs and such. Thanks for the help.

now that that's out of the way, You need to give us some specifics:
what model of civic? Std, DX, Si, Ex? there are going to be some differences.
also, which motor are you putting in? If it is just the shortblock, and you're keeping the same head, intake, tranny, etc. any d- series block will bolt right in (with the possible exception of the ZC.) some d-series blocks are going to give you different compression ratios than others with your head, but none will be dangerously high.
88-89 civics also have a different # of splines on their transmission than the 90 or newer, so if your shortblock is from a 90 up, you'll need to use the 88 clutch, pressure plate, and probably the flywheel as well.
if the motor you're swapping in is a b-series, use the link I provided above.
