91 accord cold start problem
so here are all of the symptoms my 1991 accord ex is giving me. if the car sits for a good amount of time (6 hours or longer) to get the car to start back up you need t opump the gas while cranking and prevent it from stalling. when acceleratign when the tach needle gets past 3500 the needle will bounce back and forth 750-1000 rpms back and forth. if the car has been running recently it will start up just fine. i have replaced distributor cap/rotor, plugs/wires, coolant temp sensor, main relay, pcv valve, battery, and fuel filter. i do know there is a huge hole in the muffler right now but am gettign that replaced (dont think that would have anything to do with the problem). also when driving around you can smell gas inside the car. i did hear the icm in the distributor is most likely the cause of the bouncy tach. any ideas?
I'd suggest doing some maintenance to it. That way you can narrow the possibilities down.
Fuel injectors could be dirty, or maybe low fuel pressure. Perform maintenance to every possible item that won't require you to buy anything (it's better to start off from items that won't cost or cost little then slapping new parts in it).
