ok uhm i gotta replace the sparkplug gasket thing inbetween the valve cover.
i need a new gasket for the valve cover as well...

heres my question do i need to remove the distributor? stupid haynes manual says so? but i dont' think it interfears with anything...

so how do i remove the valve cover?

 

pretty easy just the bolts on top of it. and a lil pry'in

 

you definatly dont have to remove the dist, but if the valve cover has not been removed for a long time you might need to hit/tap it with a rubber mallet or a 2x4 to loosen the seal. Also put some rtv sealent on the corners.
