Default Is noone looking for a mint R??

I've had my R listed for about a month and I've had nothing but stupid offers and lowballers. I've been offered tools, snowmobiles, eclipses, salvaged title civics, and tatttoos as trades lol. I probably have the cleanest, lowest mileage R around and I can't get a legitimate offer. One guy offered me an even up trade for 929rr...EVEN UP!!! Is there not anyone looking for nice Type R anymore? It seems that there are more people looking for shells/wrecked ones.

Pictures, more details??

Please be careful though not to turn this into a classifieds ad.

With the kind of offers your getting it sounds like your posting it for sale on craigslist.

I would post in the hondamarketplace, but even with that you would still get offers you don't want.

I know, that's why I didn't post details. It just turned 20k, bought from orig owner who was a GM at an Acura dealer. It's 100% immac and garaged.

i'd put the car on ebay. if you have a low mile, like under 50k car that's mint you really need it to be national. get a LOT of good pictures and make sure your phone number is in the ad.

It's not exactly a ''stock'' immaculate type-r.

I never said it was stock, but there's no junk on it either. It can be turned back to stock pretty easily

I think you would have better luck returning it to stock, and then trying to sell it. It's also not a great time to be selling as there are quite a few nice ITRs on the market.

i am assuming there's not a lot of boost on the s/c, correct? or else stock internals would've been changed + c/r couldve also gone down

No, only 6lbs and it hasn't been on long. It puts out 200whp safely.

Also, this car has only been worked on by Honda techs. Everything is done the right way. It has no stories, no blemishes. Nothing has been hacked, and as I said can be returned to stock easily. Someone could sell off the aftermarket parts, put another $4k-$5k in their pocket and end up with a stock 20k mile R for $13k. I'm in the police academy and have no time to work on it myself.

To add to the discussion: I love Rs, believe me, but I would never ever buy one. Even if I was somehow granted $50k, I wouldn't even consider it. I think I'm a good example of the general public's opinion too because, as you've pointed out, I would consider a salvaged-title over something like your vehicle.

The list of reasons why the demand of Rs like yours could be universally many and yet circumstantial.

Bottom line is: You'll have to play the waiting game as someone serious will eventually turn up. Eons ago I had a 99 Si which, in a lot of ways, was like your R in terms of condition, care and mods. It took me like 6 months to finally sell. You've only waited a month, that's nothing. Unless you HAVE TO SELL, you've nothing to complain or be worried about. Just sit back and be glad you own it since even you must know that you'd rather be in your situation than with a salvaged R.

Return your car to stock, there is nothing mint about a force inducted car. It doesn't matter if it was done correctly or not, you're buying somebody else's project

Wait 8 years until after I'm done with residency and I'll pick it up.

85% of people interested in modded Hondas are stupid 18 y/o kids with no money. Be patient and it'll sell for the right price.

Somebody really offered you tatoos?...lol...that's a new one. My guess is that people can't afford it--that would explain why they've been seeking salvaged/wrecked ones. I don't see why anyone wouldn't want to buy your car; have you posted it on auto-trader, auto-locator, cars.com, etc.?...that might help as well. Good luck.

Exactly. People who are going to spend the cash on a low-mileage ITR are interested in one 100% stock, or very close to it.

A boosted one will be worth several thousand less, easily.

Return it to stock OP or be prepared to wait a long time if you want top dollar.

Agreed, stock is the way to go.

Personally if I was looking for an R, one with forced induction would scared me right off.

You took the words right out of my mouth.

I'd definitely be hesitant about buying a boosted car with aftermarket wheels, etc.

The supercharger is why your car hasnt sold. I guarentee you would be getting offers left and right if your car was all stock or with just tastefull bolt ons. IMO Boosting a Type R is a sin, the car was made to be a high reving raw NA powered machine not boosted which takes away alot of the characteristics that make a Type R a Type R and why people love them so much. Remove the supercharger and you will sell it at a premium price. :-)

The fog lights, corner lights, wheels, and antenna are killing it. Return the car back to stock, along with the motor, and try reposting it. I also think I spy JDM ITR floormatts, which aren't worth half as much as the stock floormatts for your year car, And kill those switches around the e-brake console.

Doesn't look like it needs much work, just some stupid **** needs to be taken care of.
