91 Accord LX needs some guru help!
I have a 91 Accord LX coupe 5 speed in CA.
about 6 months ago it stuttered as if it was running out of fuel while accelerating on the on ramp and would not start.
It does have spark, fuel, and the timing belt is fine. Also the CEL light is not illuminated
Items replaced:
New distributer cap and rotor
New plugs
New fuel filter
valve seals and tube seals
A couple notes:
When trying to start there are no emissions coming out of the muffler.
So thinking that the cat converter might be clogged we disconnected the exhaust right behind the header before the cat. It cranked a lot easier and there actual flames coming out of the exhaust manifold but, still would not fully start.
If anyone could give me some guidance of what else to check and how I would appreciate it. Being unemployed I don't have the funds to tow it and have it diagnosed and repaired by a local shop, I need to do this on my own and try and save as much as possible by doing it. I know its a lot to ask but I have no where else to turn.
Thanks in advance!

Check the fuel pressure. Just because you're getting some fuel doesn't mean you're getting enough. Without digging out my manuals, pressure at the rail should be somewhere around 30 - 40 psi; lower at idle, higher above idle (with vacuum removed from the regulator).
Check the ignition timing. With the service connector under the glove box jumped, timing should be 15 degrees before TDC at idle (700 rpm).

r u getting spark? its probably your main relay if not. its right underneath the steering wheel, takes about 15mins to replace. could be your distributor as well. mine did the same thing, replaced the distributor with a new one(you could get a used one for cheap) and started right up. if you can get your hands on a cheap multimeter you can test your coil once you have your cap off, the manuals will tell you what the resistance specs should read, if its not in spec its your coil. you can test the main relay with a multimeter as well. i'd suggest using a digital one though. analogs suck.
Yes, agree with quickster.....check for specs on distributor......then check fuse box for dead fuses....then, if the distributor is fine, mark the distributor with a marker across the connection to the mount on the engine.....pull distributor out and replace the seal on the distributor. It is a 79 cent part but will fock up the engine and the ecu function. Okay, the next problem you might have is the egr.....pull the tube off of the egr and try to start it....if it starts, while running plug up the tube with your thumb while opposite end is connected to efi. If it runs and stabilizes then you have solved your problem. It is telling you you need a 5.95 seal and egr. Also, plugs typically do not come gapped correctly. Gap them to 43. I have had all these problems already. Oil and water need to be filled correctly too.....this car needs to be spoiled like your woman. Check the oil and keep it filled correctly.
Good Luck!!!!!

Thanks for all the responses. Apparently I did not have the spark plug wires in the correct order. I followed my manual (haynes) and also a couple diagrams online which seemed to be correct, but I guess I just read them all wrong. 1-3-4-2 but not necessarily 1-3-4-2 on the cap. finally found this that shows where 1 2 3 and 4 actually are on the cap.
No doubt, I spend more money on my car than I do on my lady. Usually more time with my car during the day on the weekends too just making sure its properly tuned to perfection.
No car = No lady...usually.
You did just open up a whole can of worms for potantial puns.
"Treat her right and she will go forever"
"A little bit of maintenance and attention, and she will always be there for you when you need her"
lol k ill stop. :p
