exospeed frontend clearence with 26''
Was wondering who out there with an exospeed 3 piece are running 26x10's. Do the frontends come to fit 26's or do you have to do major cutting like the JOJO. I had to pay a glass guy $500 or so to cut and reglass my jojo front to clear my 26's, but went down piece of **** track last night and acutally hit a big dip or pot whole and destroyed the front end... Do the clearence differ from diff chassis? Its a 98 teg.
Our integra kit is way different than the Civic kits. Since the integra is a bigger body, we were able to make it flow smooth and wider without making it look like a Hot Rod front end.
I can speak for our kits that they are trimmed to fit. Meaning, each and every car has its own ride height setup, tire size, wheel width, wheel backspacing, aligment configuration, etc. All these factors change the clearance from one car to another. So in many cases with the big tires, yes you do have to trim as you need to on certain areas. There are ways to trim and adjust the kit without changing the look and shape of the front end.
As far as "fit." Everyone has their own viewpoints on what "fits" Some want a fit that tucks and totally covers the tires. This all depends on the chassis, tire and wheel width, backspacing, etc. So its a case by case basis on how each car will look.
Regardless of the kit or chassis, if you have just put on a new front end or even on stock fenders/bumper. Things should be tested out for clearance. You have to account for tire growth, turning radius, weight transfer(front dips down when you brake), suspension travel(big dips and bumps- on n off the track), etc.
