Default ek tranny

Ok I have heard mixed opinions about this. I have 95 del sol boosted the input shaft bearing is bad. Can I take a tranny out of a ek and put it in my del sol.

Some say it bolts right up and some say that the tranny mount is diffrent and it will sit on the wrong angle.

Can some one please confirm or bust this myth for me. I'm a ef guy so this is my first del sol

Thanks in advance
Scott.

Transmissions out of EK's are B series. No they will not fit.

If you are wanting a D16Y7/Y8 trannys sure. They will fit and bolt right up.

Give us infos on your motor also. A boosted del so can mean boosted. LS/GSR/B16/ITR/D16Z6/D15B....etc.

lol you guys hilarious I know what a b-series is and I know what a single cam is. The only b series in a ek is the si.

Its a d15b head and a y7 block with arps and yes the one by the vtec solenoid is longer than all the rest.m

Well you just said "EK" and you didn't said what motor you had in your car. Technically the SI's are EM1's well yeah. Enough with that.

Seeing since you said you had a D16Y7 bottom I don't find a reason why they wouldn't bolt right up. A D16Y7/8 should bolt up with no problem.

Searching would have done the job for you also.

NO, this is incorrect!!

If the car has a d seres in it yes,
if the car is a b series the only B sereries "EK" is 99-00 and it will still work.

You are talking about the EJ6/EM1. EK's are B16A/B from japan.

Not trying to be an *** but he didn't state his motor he had. So how the hell would I know if he was talking about a single cam or dual.

And you are saying a B16A2 tranny will bolt up to a Y7 bottom?

EK is the EDM/JDM Civic and they came in both B & D series.

Example: EK3 EDM D15Z6, EK3 JDM D15B, EK9 JDM B16B

The USDM 99-00 Civic Si is not a EK, it's a EM1

................

To OP the following transmissions will bolt up, but some will run shitty and some wont. Any 92-95 USDM DX/VX/CX/Si tranny or any 96-00 DX/LX/EX/HX tranny.

The D16Z6 transmission (P20/B000) is a good one.

The D16Y8 transmission is also good.

Out of the two the P20/B000 is slighty better due to the shorter ratio in 2nd gear.

Also the P20/B000 comes in two forms. You have the one from the 92-95 Civic EX and the one from the 92-95 Civic Si & 93-95 del Sol Si. The one for the Civic Si and del Sol Si have a 5th gear ratio of 0.702 which is slightly better than the EX ratio of 0.750

What? No i am not. You said ALL Ek's are b series and wont fit, and thats complete bull ****.
And no b series and d series are complety different.

EVERY 96-00 IN THE US (EXCEPT 99-00 SI) CAME WITH D SERIES!! Em2's arent even in the same generation retard.

k that all I needed to know The tranny is out of a 98 civic ex so it should have some decent gear ratios. I now I have a vx tranny now and it falls out of boost when I switch gears.

One more thing I will have to youy my del sol tranny mount correct not the ek tranny mount
