Will 99-00 civic headlights fit 96-98 civic?
wont work. you need 96-98 ctr headlights. if you insist on 99-00 you will need to change headlights, bumper, grill, fenders, hood. 96-98 headlights are more round compared to the 99-00
Don't cut any holes or anything.
Just get the headlights for your front end.
Look in the thread I linked to and you can see the obvious shape differences on the '96-'98 versus '99-'00 headlights. They just do not fit correctly.

Hey, I went through a few front end converstions with my cousin and you will need the tabs for the bumper off of the 99-00 core support. The tabs will give you OEM gaps and you wont have the problem of every other civic out there that has front end gap issues. All you need to do is drill out the two tabs and spot weld them into the old spots on your support. Other than this drilling and welding you should be fine. The tabs are rights where the bumper and grill meet, there is one tab on each side of the grill.
Yes, OP, if you REALLY want those '99-'00 headlights you also need to get the following:
- '99-'00 Civic coupe/hatch/sedan hood
- '99-'00 Civic coupe/hatch/sedan fenders
- '99-'00 Civic coupe/hatch/sedan front bumper
- '99-'00 Civic coupe/hatch/sedan grille
- '99-'00 Civic coupe/hatch/sedan core support (or modify yours or your new bumper)
- '99-'00 Civic coupe/hatch/sedan mounts (under front fender point IIRC)
I think that should be all.
Really not worth it IMO unless you have a wrecked car or a very cheap car.

Thanks for the replies guys
I personally think '99-'00 conversions are silly and a waste of money, time and effort unless the car already needs said parts replaced.
Yep waste of money unless you wrecked you car like me and the 98 front was cheap!
What about those cool things they do to the headlights that make them a pearlescent blue tint. That stuff I think looks nice! Whole lots easier than replacing the coresupport

The OP's friend might have aged headlights and think the only way to fix them is to replace them. He might just want clear corners instead of amber ones.

I've seen REALLY bad yellow lights get cleaned up. I'm betting he just hasn't tried hard enough. Plastic and metal polish is rarely enough on these headlights. He's going to need to wet sand.

I picked up a new set of 98 headlights for 40 bucks a pop....worth the time to get the yellow off, but in my case someone painted black "eyelids" on and then sanded them off.
How about the new (i think) 3m headlight polish kit they advertise on TV?

I don't know which one is advertised on television, but I do know Autozone sells some kits that you use on a drill that work for removing the yellow damage. Maybe if you can remove the paint through other methods you can use the kit afterward.
