obd1 ecu on obd2 motor
ok i have a 1994 civic with a b16a2 with a untunned chipped obd1 p28, me and my frien are arguing cause i wont to take the chip out because i wont to be able to pass emmisions and i dont have money to get it tuned. well he said it wont work because it is obd1 ecu on a obd2 motor, i say it will work with know problem, does anyone have an obd1 ecu on there obd2 motors?
yes but once that p28 was socketed to accept a chip the stock chip was taken out so if you take that chip out you will have a dead ecu... contact phearable.net if you want a cheaper solution and have them send you a new chip with a b16 basemap.. I think its about $20

to be honest I have no idea on that one, im fortunate enough to live in a small hick town where we get away with anything we want and most people would look at you crazy if you asked them about passing emissions... im thinking though that i would definitely run a stock ecu for emissions and then change afterward and tune... a "chipped" ecu without a tune is a bad idea period leaving emissions aside
