My new 87 crx si + questions I have
So I have an 87 crx si, bone stock as far as i can see, 74k miles, and I'm at the point where I wanna clean it up and restore it to its old self. This is my first Honda and I'm not exactly sure where to start with it. I got all the fluids changed, new spark plugs and spark plug wires, new distributor cap. Next is the body.
Where can I find cheap side skirts, I already checked the local pick-a-parts (here in Southern California), I also think I need a new nose panel because as you will see in the pictures, there is a gap between the nose panel and the hood and its a little irritating now, and possibly a front bumper. The body isn't in horrible shape, but I'd like to know if there are any resources (already tried google) to find these pieces before I give my car a new paint job, I have my mind open to a body kit, but I get weary of turning my car into a little ricer.
oh and the side panels on the door are cracked, what are some ways to work these little problems out? any help I would appreciate, thanks

on ebay, you should be able to find the header panel and fenders. sideskirts and door caps, you MAY be able to find on Ebay also. the only body kit worth getting for these cars i feel is the mugen reproduction from houseman for like $1500..
Yeah thats pretty typical front body crumble you got going on there.. Someone may have been in there once and broken/misaligned some $hit. 74K though! nice interior. what is the red switch between dimmer & sunroof controls?
yea that mugen replica is amazing but out of the question for now, I'm still on the hunt for side skirts, and those door panels....I may just have a body shop try to do their best. As far as that gap between the hood and the nose panel...I was recommended to just lower the hood to make up for that gap, I'm just too scared of damaging the car (even more lol). The red switch was the old alarm system light, which reminds me, I need to get a new alarm
anywho I'm just repairing the essentials (coolant, brakes all around, new cat converter, spark plugs, spark plug wires, got my timing corrected) and hopefully I'll come around to the body parts if I see a good deal on it

Hey, hood gap, easy fix, I think:
- use a rat file to increase/lengthen the hole on the rear mounts for the hood. This should bring the hood forward enough to line it back up. Simple. Once you get the front-to-back alignment figured out, just raise or lower the hood latch to align the front latch/lock up right.
Hope this helps.
Are your door skins and rockers just cracked, or missing actual chunks of plastic. If they are just cracked, they can be fixed rather easily.

and the door skins are cracked, but the rockers are both cracked and missing plastic pieces =[
