Default TW: 1998 Civic EX 5 sp BONE STOCK, in WI

**** New Price, Condition Update**** $1500 OBO

162k on the car, about 115k on d16y8 engine. Car is bone stock, minus a Sony CD player, and newer Sony front speakers, and BNIB Sony 6x9s that I haven't gotten around to putting in the back, which would come with if the price is right. Would be ideal for a daily driver, or decent, cheap project with lots of new parts. If I was looking for a project, I'd put a swap in, which would cure 99% of the problems it currently has. Located in SE WI.

I still have all four hub caps, just never put them back on after forgetting when I rotated the tires once.

Details:

The good:

- Newer engine installed 11/09, has about 110k right now according to seller of longblock. D16y8; vtak works and everything.
- Brand new clutch, pressure plate, throw out bearing, resurfaced flywheel also put on with engine, 10k on those
-Brand new Michelin Hydroedge tires put on less than 10k ago
- Brand new OEM(from Gentile Honda) midpipe and muffler put on two months ago
- Brand new rear struts installed a couple months ago as well
- Replaced both rear UCAs a couple months ago
- BNIB lifetime Napa front rotors, as well as ceramic brake pads will come with the car. The Autozone pads used previously took about 1/8" off the surface of the rotors
- stock EX transmission shifts perfectly in every gear. 5th grinds slightly once a month or so; all other synchros are in perfect shape. I have NEVER beat on this car, clutch has never been dropped, I have never driven faster than 80 mph. It has been my work car.
- Just replaced battery last summer
- Car can come with: two new front shocks, new front rotors/pads, and new in box Sony 6x9 speakers.
- All power doors, windows, mirrors, sunroof/moonrook work fine.
- Still has keyless entry, I will have to find the remote though.

The bad:

- AC stopped working last summer. I just took out the compressor while replacing the engine last fall. Don't think I still have it, but all over components are still untouched.
- Horn and CC haven't worked since I bought the car. Don't know why. Has never bothered me enough to spend time/money to diagnose.
- Has had a coolant evaporation issue, but I think I finally fixed it after replacing the thermostat and radiator cap. Doesn't burn any in the combustion(compression test came back 170-180 across all four, plugs are bone dry, no mixing of either oil or coolant, no water/white smoke from exhaust)chamber, or leak, so I believe it was evaporating due to bad pressure caused by bad rad. cap.
- Currently has an intermittent IACV issue. Tried replacing it, and problem remains. The next step I am going to take is to replace the wiring harness. Still runs and drives, it just runs like crap sometimes until you shut down/restart the engine.
- Input shaft bearing has started to whine, God only knows how long it will last. Trans will need to be taken apart/replaced before the synchros and diff. etc. go to ****.

The ugly:

This has been my work car(delivering pizzas) so the exterior is somewhat beat up. Dimples on the top behind the sunroof from magnetic sign, small damage to the very bottom of front bumper from a curb or something, and a small dent on the rear quarter from backing into a metal mailbox one night last winter It has NO RUST, save for the dent on the quarterpanel where the paint was chipped off.

The interior is kind of rough. Could use a good cleaning(black, scummy buildup from contact with bottoms of delivery pouches thousands of time a year), and behind the rear seat the carpeting is dissolved from a bad battery tipping over when I brought it back for a core charge last summer. Could easily be covered by a floor mat. The seats are ok. The back seats are decent, due to hardly being used. There is a bolster tear along the seam of the driver seat, and passenger seat has a sauce stain on it, but they don't need to be replaced any time soon. Maybe covered, but still offer good support/comfort. The trunk would need new carpeting if anything valuable is to be put in it, due to an oil spill.

To make a long story short. That shop has scammer all over it. look up the shop owner on the court system and see how many people are taking him to court. My money was token, my motor is gone and I have to rebuild from grounds up with money I have already spent. No big deal someone like that, that keeps on ****ing over his customers. Will run into the wrong person. I have all my receipt and invoices and email he sent to me. I can guarantee he has no proof I even exsisted as a customer. no big deal, this thread is no place to chit chat about this. GLWS

Damn. I'm glad I never had to bring anything there then. I do know a couple of the guys that do the work there, but have never really talked to the owner. I guess my perspective is different than a customer's, but the only problem I've heard is that they like to take forever to do the work. Sorry about the problems you've had

They like to take in a million of jobs. When they only have like one guy working. They also like to take in jobs, when they have like a million of projects thats not even finish yet. Their specialty is ripping customer's cars apart and letting it sit for years. Other one is taking people money and not doing the work. My factory swap took about 8-9 months to finish. I could of flew to Paris, dyed my hair, have 3 kids and went to college ten times before my car was done. "catch my drift" Everytime you go there to check on your car....all the employees are working all there own cars. Thats because they took your money and are dumping the cash on their own cars. Perfect example blue nissan lol. Just saving you the head ache bro.
