I'm been reading that the KYB's aren't designed to handle lower then 1 1/2" drop. My GC are currently at 2 and I was planned on going to 2 1/2" when I got them. Will the handle them correctly? If not, what shocks would handle that kinda drop?

Koni yellows.

 

i have eibach sportlines and my kyb agx have been holding up fine at about 2.5" drop but i am raising them up in a few weeks when i get my ground controls because i think the shocks will work better when not that low.

 

i have some tokicos not the best but do the job......i have a 2"+ drop......work fine 4 me......

 

i think most aftermarket shocks aren't made to handle drops lower than 1/12"-2", but they still work well. Just that the shocks will wear more quickly.

hmm thanks guys. I'm gonna look into prices of some konis and compare them to the KYB. I know KYB are with in a budget, but if I can get the Konis @ a good price, i might go with them

 

I believe that I read once that agx's are warrantied up to a 2.0 inch drop. After that it's on you.

 

I'm pretty sure its 1.5" but I could be wrong. Thats one thing that turned me off on the KYB. I believe the Koni holds up better?!

 

yea, my friend has some kyb on a 2" drop, blown in only six months... i heard the kyb warranty is void for drops lower than 1.5", i don't know how they know, but i guess they figure it out... i'm stuck with mine, still debating if i should put them in or try to sell them, anybody interested? oh and the kyb are about $200 less than the koni yellows that's why i bought them, my .02 l8rz

 

i have kyb agx's been riding them on my gc's for about 18 months...most of the time the gc's were all the way down, untill i raised them recently to a ~3.25" drop and they still work great.

I'm gonna be auto-xing them. Will the KYBs hold up?

 

i know alot of guys who auto cross with the AGX's they absolutly love them

this winter im getting the AGX's with ground controls, and then i plan on auto-x'ing next season

 

really, thats good then. I hope to auto-xing alot next year. I can pick up AGX for less then 350. Konis I've seen currently for 560.

I have KYB AGX on some crappy coil overs dropped 3" or a lil lower....., Works great but I'll raise them up to like 2.25 once i get my GC.

 

I am running AGX's and GC's and it rides great. I have no complaints and have been pretty low for almost a year now. but true the AGX's are only warrantied up to a certain amt.

bottom line: They are great for around town, but haven't autoxed them yet.

That also was his very first post. Just thought I'd point that out. Oh yeah, might as well add to thread while I'm at it. I have KYB AGX's paired with Weapon-R Dual Spring Circuit Pro Coilovers. Rides stiff. I've only had them for a week lowered about 2 inches maybe less. Got them set on 3 Front 6 Rear. I love the handeling but the Weapon'R's seem too stiff, I wouldn't recommend them WITHOUT the KYB AGX's. I think I'm gonna buy some Skunk2 Coilovers and give them a shot.
